jampit house

n the Ijen Plateau, there are two plantations managed by PT Perkebunan Nusantara XII — Kalisat Jampit Plantation and Blawan Plantation. Both estates are well known for cultivating Arabica coffee. The Arabica coffee from the Ijen Plateau is internationally recognized as Java Coffee. Its taste is mild, with a balance of bitterness and a slightly sour note, unlike Robusta coffee, which tastes purely bitter. One of the most interesting places to visit in this area is the Jampit Coffee Plantation, which also features a 6-hectare strawberry garden. To reach the plantation, you can start from the three-way junction in Sempol and travel about 14 kilometers. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by scenic views of coffee plantations stretching across the hills. In the Jampit area, there is a historic building that now serves as a guest house. Although located in a remote area, the Jampit Guest House is well known…

Hiking is the most cleansing and exhilarating of exercise for me. What I like most about hiking is spending some time away from the busy life where it is always seems like people are running around trying to get somewhere and stressed out. When I am away from the city life, away from the noisy cars driving back and forth sometimes honking at one another, when I am away from this and in an area where I’m more with nature, I just feel at peace, yet revitalized at the same time. Depending on where you’re hiking, your vision will be a lot different from what you see in the city. For me, it’s usually lots of green trees, dense coffee plantation, blue skies with clouds floating, and sunrays passing through the leaves of the trees lighting the pathway in front or nearby. Even though physically, it may seem exhausting, it…

Where Heaven Meets Hell , a film by Sasha Friedlander.Official Website: whereheavenmeetshell.com Deep in the rain forests of Eastern Java, Indonesia, lies the active volcano, Kawah Ijen, where 500 sulfur miners carrying backbreaking loads, traverse treacherous terrain amidst spectacular vistas and toxic gases. Where Heaven Meets Hell relays the stories of four of these miners, who risk their lives and health daily in an industry we rely on for sugar, matches and cosmetics. This visually stunning and intimate film chronicles their attempts to escape the endemic poverty and lack of education that haunts their community. Drawing strength from their families and Muslim faith, these miners inspire us as they search for meaning in their daily struggles and triumphs.
